Urban Planners Examined Priene’s Urban Heritage On-Site

Members of the İzmir and Aydın Chamber of Urban Planners visited Priene. The city, one of the best-preserved examples of Hellenistic-period urban planning, was examined on-site as part of a technical tour. Architect Mine AŞCI ALTAN, Site Director of the Ancient City of Priene, and members of the Site Directorate team accompanied the participants throughout the tour, providing technical information on the city’s grid plan system, architectural organization, design of public spaces, and its relationship with the topography; and also provided information regarding the city’s UNESCO World Heritage nomination process.
