Technical Trip to Söke from Istanbul Technical University Department of Landscape Architecture: "Priene, Cultural Landscape"

An academic group consisting of faculty members and students from the ITU Department of Landscape Architecture visited the Söke region as part of a three-day technical trip for their graduation projects on the topic of "Priene, Cultural Landscape."

On the first day of the technical tour, they visited the Priene Ancient City Site Management Office and received an informational presentation from the Site Management Team regarding Priene Ancient City and the city's UNESCO processes.

On the second day of the technical tour, which was part of the cultural landscape projects of the Istanbul Technical University Department of Landscape Architecture focusing on Priene, the Priene Ancient City and the Güllübahçe neighborhood were visited and examined on site. During the technical visits, the academic group was accompanied by Mine AŞCI ALTAN, Architect and Site Director of the Priene Ancient City, and the Priene Site Management Team. They provided information about the region and the ancient city, ranging from local to general topics, including the demographic structure of the local population, the scope and details of the site management plan prepared within the scope of the UNESCO process, and the sustainable contributions the plan will provide to the region.
